Curriculum

The Curriculum for Language, Science and Social Science of Class V to X framed by the West Bengal Board of Madrasah Education and of Class XI and XII framed by the West Bengal Council for Higher Education are strictly followed here. The Curriculum for Vocational Courses both of VIII+ Level and X+ Level framed by the WBSCVET are taught Besides, Co-curricular activities as prescribed by the Board are regularly performed by the students.

Scholarship & Incentives

Various Scholarships are given both by the State Government and Central Government to encourage our students to continue their studies. The schemes will form the foundation for their educational attainment and provide a level playing field in the competitive employment arena. Empowerment through education, which is one of the objectives of these schemes, has the potential to lead to upliftment of the socio-economic conditions of the minority communities.
1. Pre-Matric Scholarships to Minority Students:
Pre-Matric Scholarships to Minority students from Class V to X scoring not less than average 50% in the previous examination are directly credited to their Bank Accounts. The students with their annual family income not exceeding rupees one lakh should fill up the offline application forms with required documents as prescribed by the Government for this scholarship and submit to the Madrasah Office for verification and submission. Rs. 8050.00 for Hosteller and Rs. 1730 for Day Scholars are offered every year.
2. Post Matric Scholarships:
Post Matric Scholarships will be awarded to the Minority students for Class XI and XII who have secured not less than 50% marks in the previous final examination and the annual income of whose family does not exceed rupees two lakh. Rs. 10800.00 for Hosteller and Rs. 9300.00 are offered and the amounts are directly credited to their bank accounts.
3. Kanyashree Prakalpa:
Kanyashree Prakalpa is one of the remarkable schemes initiated by the Government of West Bengal. Under the Probhibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006, 18 is the legal age of marriage for girls in India. Despite several years of this Act being in existence, the early marriage of girls continues to be practiced in West Bengal. Kanyashree Prakalpa seeks to improve the status and well being of girls, specifically those form socio-economically disadvantages families through Conditional Cash Transfers by incetivizing them to continue in education for a longer period of time and disincentivizing marriage till at least the age of 18, the legal age of marriage, thereby reducing the risks of early pregnancies and other physical complicacies of the grils. The girls who will comply the following conditions will be awarded Kanyashree Scholarships. All unmarried girls within the age of 13-18 years and enrolled in Classes VIII-XII in our Madrasah and whose family income having less than Rs. 1.20,000.00 per annum will be given this scholarship. The girls students under 18 years will get Rs. 500 per annum and the girls within the age of just above 17 years and under 19 years will get one time grant of Rs. 25,000.00 under this scheme.
4. Sabooj Sathi Scholarship (Bi-cycle Distribution Scheme of Govt. of West Bengal):
The Bi-cycle Distribution Scheme of the Govt. of West Bengal is now well-known as “Sabooj Sathi” as coined by Hon’ble Chief Minister, Smt. Mamta Banerjee herself and it reflects her ambition that bi-cycles provided under the scheme will empower the young students to achieve new feats in future. Its simple objective is to empower the students, especially the girls and reduce drop outs in higher education. All the students within Classes IX to XII are covered under this scheme.
5. Shikhshashree Scholarship to SC/ST Students for Class V to VIII :
The Backward classes Welfare Department executes this scholarship aiming at spreading education among the SC and ST students for Class V to VIII in the State of West Bengal. The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to improve their participation in Pre-matric stages and minimize the incidence of drop-out. The students whose annual family income not exceeding 2.5 lakh are covered under this scheme. The yearly class wise rates of such grant paid through Bank Account only are given below : V = Rs.500.00, VI = Rs. 650.00, VII = Rs. 700.00 and VIII = Rs. 800.
6. Talent Support Programme for Class XI and XII:
Talent Support Stipend Scholarship is a novel initiative of the Government of West Bengal for encouraging Minority Students for Class XI and XII securing less than 50% marks in the previous examination to continue their studies. Economic weakness must not come in the way of any Minority student in continuing his / her academic pursuit, WBMD&FC aims at bridging the economic gap. The students whose yearly family income is under Rs. 2 lakhs can apply online for this scholarship
7. WB Chief Minister Relief Fund Scholarship:
The Chief Minister of West Bengal provide scholarships every year to the students who pass High Madrasah Final Examination / Madhyamik Examination with at least 65% Marks and Higher Secondary Examination with at least 60% marks. The Scholarship provide an amount of Rs. 10,000.00 per year on his/her current course.
8. Free Text Book Distribution:
All the text books for Classes V to VIII, four text books for classes IX to X and two text books for Classes XI and XII are distributed among the students free of cost at the beginning of the new academic session.
9. Girls’ Incentive:
The Government of West Bengal has introduced a new scheme of Scholarship for Girls Students with BPL Card holder, under Labour Department’s Provident Fund Scheme for un-oganized workers and that for agriculture labourers. Every year Girls’ Incentives of Rs. 100.00 p.m. / Rs.1200 p.a. are distributed to all the Minority Girls’ Students
10. Uniforms:
The Girls’ Students are offered 4 sets of uniforms, two sets from Minority Department, Government of West Bengal and 2 sets from SSM and the Boys’ Students 2 sets of uniforms from SSM every year.
11. Mid-Day Meal Schemes:
The Government provides Mid-Day Meals to minimize the drop-out case from the Madrasah. Most of the students especially from poor families are benefitted with this scheme. Every day, all the students for Classes V to VIII are offered cooked food under this schemes free of cost.

Admission

Application forms are available in the Madrasah Office to be filled and submitted to register the child. No Admission Test is taken for Class V to VIII. Admission Test and interviews for seeking admission in class IX and XI are organized for proper screening of the students. Provisional admission in class V and IX is taken in the 1st week of January and of Class XI should be taken after the publication of Board’s Result Wishing you all the best for a new academic year.
Subjects offered for Higher Secondary Courses:

  2. Arts Stream : Bengali, English, History, Geography, Political Science, Philosophy, Education, Arabic, Computer Application, Nutrition

Educational Facilities

Vocational Courses: Rahatpur High Madrasah (HS) offers the VIII+Level 6 months courses and X+Level 2 years courses to the students who like to study professional and technical courses for their livelihood. The workshops and the laboratories are well-equipped and well-decorated with required modern devices, tools and machines. The well-trained and efficient instructors are available for running the courses.
The VIII+Level offers the following trades:
i) Amin Survey (AMSV) :One of the most important trades concerning with survey of lands offers a good livelihood of the learners.
ii) Tailoring (TAIL): The profession will never be postponed. It offers the courses to prepare designing costumes with a social value.
iii) Electrical House Wiring & Motor Winding (EHMW): It is our daily need to repair the electrical wire. The course offers a learner to be a good electrician. Class VIII pass candidates with a age limit from 16 to 40 may apply for the above mentioned courses. Only session charge will be paid by the candidate and it does not exceed Rs 250/-.
The X+Level offers the following trades:
i) Computer Assemble and Maintenance (CAAM) : Now-a-days, computers have been the part and parcel of our daily life. It offers the course to the learner to be an expert hardware mechanic of computers. It is suitable for a good and effective profession.
ii) Maintenance and Repairing of Domestic Appliance (MRED) Class X pass candidate with a age limit from 18 to 40 may apply for the above mentioned courses. Only session charge will be paid by the candidates par annum and it does not exceed Rs. 250/-

Seminers & Counselling

Rahatpur High Madrasah (HS) believes in social, emotional, physical and mental development of its students. So, to channelize their energies in a right direction, seminars and workshops are conducted by the experienced and renowned counselors for the students and parents for enhancing their scientific attitude. To keep the staff and students abreast with the latest technologies of teaching-learning process and update them with the global trends in education a number of workshops are organized round the year.

Co-Curricular Activities

For emotional and social development, Co-curricular activities are arranged through the individual or team works, such as, organizing Cultural Programmes, Sports Competitions, Drill and March, celebration of various important days and occasions etc.
ECO CLUB:
“Nature never did betray the heart that loved her.” – William Wordsworth. To spread awareness about the degradation of the environment and to restore the ecological balance to safer levels, the Eco Club of RHM has taken the initiative to contribute in their own little way by organizing regular tree plantation drive. The members of the Eco Club organize seminars and consciousness camp regarding the upgradation of the environment. The Eco Club is financially backed by the Government of West Bengal to run its activity.
CONSUMERS’ CLUB:
A Consumers’ Club is formed by the direction of the Government of West Bengal to propagate and spread the consciousness of the consumers right and responsibility regarding the safety, quality, quantity, potency, purity, standard and price of the commodities or goods sold by the dealers / retailers so that the general customers are not deceived or cheated by the dishonest businessman.
MEENA MANCH (GIRLS’ CLUB):
The Manch is a forum of school girls inspired by the animation series “Meena” produced by UNICEF to promote the value and rights of the girl child.” The Meena Manch performs the following activities: i) It tries to prevent the child marriage, ii) It inspires the guardians to send their daughter to school, iii) It helps to keep the environment neat and clean, iv) It helps to promote the leadership quality of the girls students and many more.
CELEBRATIONS:
The integrated development of physical, mental and cultural skills of the students is the sole aim of Rahatpur High Madrasah (HS). Discovering a child’s talent and nurturing it is our motto. Special days celebration acquaint children with our rich cultural heritage and create deep understanding of religious and national festivals. Children are given ample of opportunities in our Madrasah to participate in cultural festivities and bring them closer to their cultural heritage.
DEBATE, QUIZ AND SEMINAR:
Debate, quiz and seminar are held on a particular issue with an objective to highlight a social, political or economical problem of our country. The Cultural Sub-committee organizes such program. Sometimes, good orators or expert persons are invited to these programmes. Our students and teachers spontaneously participate in those programmes

General Rules of the Madrasah

All the students and their guardians are drawn to the following rules and regulations of the Madrasah. The students will follow the same strictly.
1. Attendance of the Students :
  1. As per the Government Instruction and the decisions taken in the Guardian Meeting, each student should have a minimum attendance of 75%. Otherwise, he/she will not be allowed to appear in the examination
  2. The guardians will be informed of the short percentage of the student. Prescribed actions will be taken if proper reasons are not submitted for shor percentage.
  3. A student with highest attendance will be awarded.
  4. An application with medical certificate will be submitted if a student is absent for a long time for illness.
  5. A student will be punished if he/she absconds from the Madrasah before breakup of the classes.
2. Uniforms of the Students :
  1. For Boys from Class V to XII : Navy blue pant and white half shirt in summer and white full shirt with navy blue sweater in winter.
  2. For Girls from Class V to X : Navy blue salwar with white Orhna / Hijab and white pajamas in summer and navy blue sweater in winter.
  3. For Girls from XI to XII : Blue Bordered White Saree with orhna in summer and navy blue sweater in winter.
  4. The students will wear black school shoe with blue sock and white P.T. Shoe with white socks during P.T.
3. Personal Hygiene and Cleanliness of the students :
  1. The students should attend the classes with neat and clean uniforms.
  2. They should have a regular bath with soap .
  3. They should wash their hands before and after taking meals.
  4. They should wash their hands after using toilets.
  5. They should brush their teeth before and after their meal and sleep.
  6. Nails will be cut once a week. They should clear their nose and ears during bathing.
  7. The boys should get cut their hair once a month.
  8. The girls should not attend the Madrasah wearing with glass bracelets and gold ornaments.
4. Cleanliness of the Madrasah Premises:
  1. Dirty things will not be littered elsewhere. These should be thrown in the dustbin .
  2. Do not spit elsewhere.
  3. A bucket of water will be poured down from above on the toilet pan after using so that the dirty things are washed away. Use tubeweil water if running water is unavailable in the bathroom.
  4. Do not throw the small particles on the toilet pan or in the pipeline to avoid blockage of the line.
  5. Do not write anything on the walls or benches or tables.
  6. The leftovers or scraps will be thrown on the dustbin after taking Mid-Day Meal.
  7. The water taps will be stopped after use.
5. Model Code of Conduct of the Students:
  1. The students should respect the seniors and the teachers. They should stand up in honour of the teachers during their incoming and outgoing in the classrooms.
  2. Speak with others politely and don’t misbehave with others.
  3. Indecent exposuring or seeing obscene photos or foul speaking, injuring somebody, pinching, butting, kicking, chit chatting, stealing, teasing or damaging something are punishable offence.
  4. Discipline will be maintained in classroom in absence of the teachers. Don’t make a noise in the classroom and wander in the verandah or field.
  5. The students should attend the Madrasah before assembly everyday and go out from the Madrasah campus after the breakup of the Madrasah.
  6. They should participate in all activities of the Madrasah. It is compulsory to attend the P.T. Class.
  7. Each student should speak in a pure Bengali language.
  8. It is strictly prohibited to use mobile phone or any other digital music or video in the Madrasah campus.
  9. The students should stand in queue in assembly according to their sections. Each student should straighten the line touching the shoulder of the front student. They should recite Surah Fateha and National Anthem in a melodious tune. After assembly, they should enter into the classrooms in a disciplined way .
  10. Any type of cheating in examination hall is strictly prohibited. If a student is caught red handed for the first time, answer script of that subject will be cancelled. If the student is caught handed 2nd time, his / her total examination will be cancelled. No bags or books except exam materials will be allowed in the examination hall.
  11. Students are not allowed to sit on the chair of the teachers or on the tables or on the high benches.
  12. Each student should be careful of all properties of the Madrasah. If a property is damaged by any student, the present price value of the property will be paid by him / her or by their guardian. If a student damage a property, it will be informed to the teachers.
6. Daily Assembly:
In every working day, the daily assembly will be started just at 10:40 a.m. The bell will ring at 10:35 a.m. After ringing the bell, the students should stand in the prayer line. After the prayer is over, necessary instruction if any will be declared by the Madrasah Authority.
7. Recess of teaching-learning:
The recess of each class will be started as follows : Monday to Thursday : Class V & VI : During the 4th period & Class VII to XII : after 4th period. Friday : Class V & VI : During the 3rd period & Class VII to XII : after 2nd period. The students from Class V to VIII will take their Mid-Day Meal in their recess period and on Saturday, they will take their Mid-Day Meal after 4th period.
