History of the Madrasah

Rahatpur High Madrasah (HS) started its journey in 1973. It was recognized as a Junior High Madrasah on the 1st January in 1975 by the West Bengal Board of Madrasah Education under the Govt. of West Bengal. Later, it was upgraded to High Madrasah on the 1st January in 1984 by WBBME and Higher Secondary Madrasah on the 17th July in 2000 by WBCHSE. The local people mostly from the poor families of Domohana area established this Institution with a view to providing education to their children. Obviously, their hopes and targets are fulfilled. First, the persons interested in education started the Madrasah in a structure of mud walls or thatched wall classrooms where very few students attended. But, gradually, the roll strength began to increase and now it exceeds 4000. It is the result of the strenuous efforts of the teachers as well as the guardians.
Spreading over an area of 5.5 acres with strength of 4000 students and 42 teachers, the Madrasah has been a proactive institution of learning with a blend of values, tradition, technology and above all, a quest for excellence.
It is a Government aided educational institution funded by the Govt. of West Bengal and the all the educational policies and curriculums framed by the Government is strictly followed here.
Wishing you all the best for a new academic year.

Headmaster’s Message

Many educated persons bear a grudge against the Madrasah Education. But, probably, they don’t know about the regimented Madrasah Education System of West Bengal under which 614 Madrasahs are run by the Government of West Bengal where thousands of children are imparted modern education with morality. Rahatpur High Madrasah (HS) is a part of this education system. We are going to convert it into a total digital Madrasah. We feel proud that our children learn more than that of the general schools.
I think it is the most difficult job to educate and train the children of human beings, because, the teachers have to deal with the human emotions and feelings. Our teachers strives for excellence in all walks of child education. Every child is endowed with creativity and inborn talent. If they are supported with an conducive environment, of course, their inborn qualities will be well furnished. In this fast paced world, the role of education becomes very crucial as it requires to mould a child into an individual. Children today must be taught to think than merely to remember facts. Education is the soul of the society that passes from one generation to another.
There are many things to be done till now. We have to remove the infrastructural problem first to provide the minimum facilities to our students. Construction of drainage System, renovation of old buildings, construction of cycle shed, construction of Mid-Day Meal Dining Shed, construction of a auditorium for performance of seminars and cultural celebrations, construction of boundary wall to protect the Madrasah premises, renovation of the playground and many more will be completed on urgency basis. So, I appeal to all the guardians, the people of the area and the Government to come forward to complete the undone works.
We are going to introduce the Online Digital Management Service. It is probably the first initiative in the Madrasahs in West Bengal. I request all the teachers, guardians, students and the persons connected with this Madrasah to make it a grand success.
